Project Senior Analyst at Citi
Team / Role Overview
The Project Senior Analyst role plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions within the Funds Change team. This role specifically focuses on Transfer Agency, Fund Accounting, and Middle Office operations. You will lead complex business analysis activities, drive efficiency, align technical solutions with business objectives, and ensure smooth transitions for new systems and workflows, contributing significantly to the standardization and optimization of our investment fund services.
Responsibilities
- Lead Business Analysis Activities: Lead all business analysis activities on assigned complex projects, both client and internal, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with business objectives for Transfer Agency, Fund Accounting, and Middle Office initiatives.
- Requirements Elicitation & Management: Lead the preparation and analysis of proposed system changes, gathering consensus between business requirements and technology deliverables to assure smooth project implementation. Document comprehensive business requirements (BRDs) and functional specifications.
- Process Analysis & Design: Perform in-depth process analysis and design solutions in response to complex client or operational needs across funds operations, including the development of target operating models and process re‑engineering.
- System Functionality & Testing Oversight: Oversee testing of new system functionalities in UAT environments. Formulate and coordinate regression test plans and support Production Validation Testing for new system functionalities and client changes. Oversee the delivery of business requirements, prepare testing plans, and execute/oversee testing.
- Strategic Stakeholder Management: Co‑operate closely with business stakeholders, Product, Technology partners, and clients, ensuring the right infrastructure aligns with organizational vision and strategic goals. Build and maintain effective working relationships with Technology, Oversight teams, Relationship Managers, and Project Managers.
- Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Take proactive actions targeted at minimizing and mitigating implementation and project risk. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring adherence to organizational policies, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement & Innovation: Drive continuous process improvement and automation initiatives, promoting a ‘fintech first’ approach where applicable to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within funds operations.
- Client & Business Support: Manage client and business ad‑hoc queries and requirements. Provide business support for Operations functions, addressing production problems and providing effective solutions.
- Team Development & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts/team members, fostering their development and ensuring high‑quality output. Encourage a positive and professional working environment through regular training and engagement.
- Reporting & Strategic Planning: Prepare and present project status, performance data, and key insights to management and stakeholders. Display appropriate involvement in Department strategic planning.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience as Project Analyst in Change Management unit or in operational improvements area (e.g. Lean, re‑engineering programs).
- Experience of working with asset management clients on a variety of investment fund vehicles (e.g. OEICS, Segregated) or Securities Services operations.
- Thorough understanding of financial market.
- Understanding of BABOK standard and/or IIBA certification is advantageous.
- Very good command of English.
- Ability to work in fast‑paced environment under tight contractual deadlines.
- Capability for stepping into project management at times when required.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate to a range of audiences.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of MS Visio, PowerBI and SQL is a definite asset.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
