Andersen is hiring a Project Manager in Germany. The role supports a digital-education initiative focused on modernizing academic administration and learning systems to improve accessibility, data handling, and operational efficiency.
The customer is a large international technology provider delivering end-to-end digital solutions for enterprise-level organizations. The company focuses on IT consulting, cloud services, cybersecurity, and managed operations, supporting clients across various industries with complex digital-transformation needs. With decades of experience, the customer emphasizes innovation, reliability, and high security standards.
The project is focused on driving digital transformation within the public education sector by modernizing academic administration and learning management systems. It aims to improve accessibility, streamline data handling, and enhance operational efficiency through a scalable and secure digital platform used by institutions and end-users.
Responsibilities
- Leading and steering ICT projects of varying size and complexity from initiation through delivery and handover.
- Managing project scope, timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure consistent delivery within agreed time, quality, and budget constraints.
- Preparing project plans, schedules, work-breakdown structures, and resource allocations in alignment with organisational priorities.
- Coordinating and supervising dedicated project teams, ensuring clear task assignment, progress tracking, and effective collaboration.
- Maintaining ongoing communication with internal stakeholders, functional departments, external customers, Sales and Delivery to provide project status, resolve concerns, and ensure alignment with contractual obligations.
- Overseeing contractual and SLA-related commitments, monitoring service performance, and ensuring fulfilment of all project-specific and operational requirements.
- Facilitating decision-making, escalating risks or blockers when necessary, and ensuring project governance standards are met.
- Supporting procurement processes by preparing invitations to tender (RFPs) in cooperation with Procurement, IT, and business units.
- Producing project documentation, reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinating acceptance, deployment, transition, and handover processes to operational teams or customers.
- Participating in Scrum ceremonies in agile projects and aligning delivery activities with agile practices to ensure effective integration within the Scrum team.
Requirements
- Experience as a Project Manager for 6+ years.
- Experience in managing ICT projects of medium and high complexity for 6+ years.
- Proven ability to lead the full project lifecycle from initiation to delivery and handover.
- Experience working in the education sector.
- Strong experience managing scope, budget, timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong background coordinating cross-functional teams and driving delivery outcomes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, internal teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Experience working with SLAs, contracts, and service delivery obligations.
- Practical experience preparing project documentation, reports, and decision materials.
- Experience collaborating with Procurement and contributing to RFP / tender preparation.
- Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum, with hands-on participation in agile delivery.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or MS Project.
- Strong organisational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
- Level of German – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
