Project Manager
Key Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional Commercial projects (process, systems, operating model), ensuring delivery on time, within scope, budget and aligned with business priorities across many departments
Define project scope, roadmap, milestones, and implementation plans, working closely with Product Category Teams, Planning, Pricing, Marketing, Supply Chain, Allocations, IT, Visual Merch, and ExCo project sponsors.
Drive delivery of clear business cases with measurable KPIs (e.g., product availability, stock efficiency, sales uplift, process efficiency), track benefits, and ensure transparency of delivery progress.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and SMEs, ensuring strong collaboration, issue resolution, and consistent stakeholder engagement in a matrixed environment.
Maintain governance frameworks, RAID logs, project documentation, and reporting throughout the end-to-end delivery lifecycle.
Prepare and facilitate workshops, drive decision‑making, and ensure pace, quality, and adherence to project objectives.
Prepare and deliver regular updates to steering committees and senior sponsors, highlighting progress, risks, and required decisions.
Support post‑implementation reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement of Commercial processes across Product Category Management, Pricing, Marketing and Planning
Shape and influence project priorities and sequencing, ensuring alignment with commercial strategy and capacity across teams.
Manage external partners, vendors, and technology providers to ensure successful delivery of commercial initiatives.
Drive change management, communication, and adoption plans to ensure new processes and systems are embedded across Commercial teams.
Confidently challenge assumptions and propose alternatives to improve outcomes while maintaining strong relationships.
Reporting Directly to Program Lead within Chief Product’s Officer structure.
Requirements
3+ years of proven experience as a Project Manager delivering cross‑functional business or commercial projects (e.g., product lifecycle, planning, stock flow, supply chain optimisation, commercial processes).
Strong leadership, time management, facilitation, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
Experience working in complex matrix organizations with multiple stakeholder groups (Category Management, Planning, Supply Chain, Stores, IT, Marketing, VM).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complexity into clear messages for senior stakeholders, including ExCo.
Highly collaborative team player, able to build trust and drive alignment across functions.
Ability to adapt plans and approaches in a fast‑moving retail environment to achieve project goals.
Strong judgment in critical or high‑pressure situations; capable of driving timely decisions.
High attention to detail, structure, and quality of delivery.
