Air Liquide Engineering & Construction builds the Group’s production units (mainly air gas separation and hydrogen production units) and provides external customers with efficient, sustainable, customized technology and process solutions. How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

We are looking for a highly skilled person capable of acting both as Project Director (on large and mid-size projects) and as Engineering Manager on our very large projects.

The successful candidate will manage multi-locations, multinational, multicultural in-house engineering teams and subcontracted engineering partners for the successful completion of €300M or more EP or EPC Projects. These projects are multi-technology, multi-center execution projects to be completed within a schedule, budget, and high engineering standards.

He/She is accountable for all engineering activities and KPIs of the project and responsible for the identification and qualification of engineering partners. He/She manages and controls these partners and represents Air Liquide E&C towards clients, suppliers, partners, and subcontractors for all technical & engineering aspects.

  • Develop the best economical & technical solutions with the project team, challenging stakeholders to ensure competitiveness.
  • Ensure effective handover from Development to Execution Phase.
  • Evaluate resources and skills for project excellence.
  • Manage project execution to meet client satisfaction, technical performance, schedule, quality, risks, and safety.
  • Manage engineering resources directly for mid-size projects.
  • Coordinate interfaces among disciplines, departments, vendors, and partners.
  • Act as the main technical contact for clients and ensure client requirements are addressed.
  • Lead the qualification and management of engineering partners, including quality, schedule, and cost control.
  • Oversee engineering quality processes, meetings, and documentation.
  • Manage engineering KPIs and participate in risk assessments and negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external rules and standards.
  • Support site activities and monitor project performance for early issue detection.
  • Control project costs and monitor risks and opportunities.
  • Report progress accurately and timely to management.
  • Manage client and supplier contracts effectively.
  • Promote safety and HSE standards among all project participants.
  • Prepare and lead project reviews.

The role is based in Kraków, Poland.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Engineer Diploma (science or engineering).
  • At least 10+ years of relevant international project management experience in EPC/PMC within the Oil and Gas Sector, with the last 5 years as a Project Director or Engineering Manager on large industrial projects.
  • Broad understanding of project drivers in oil and gas.
  • Knowledge of project cycle areas: construction, procurement, engineering, processes.
  • Experience as Field Engineering or site construction engineer is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong safety orientation and results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and work under pressure.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25-30% worldwide.
