Project Buyer (Retail Permanent Displays), UK

Purpose of the Role

As a Project Buyer, you will design and execute permanent point‑of‑sale displays and retail fixtures that capture brand essence. You will translate client briefs into action, source suppliers, spot innovations, and stay ahead of global market trends. Working closely with creative, design, and engineering teams, you’ll ensure seamless project flow from sketches to installation, coordinating handovers and delivering flawless detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Add value by challenging norms and driving category growth.
• Ensure contractually compliant pricing and flawless execution.
• Apply analytics in tenders and complex RFQs, reviewing results to propose best‑in‑class solutions.
• Collaborate with account teams to exceed savings targets and category KPIs.
• Secure technical drawings, BOMs, and clear briefs with client engagement, design and engineering teams.
• Align supply‑chain strategy to secure best pricing, logistics and global compliance.
• Compile RFQ documents, liaise with suppliers and manage the tender process.
• Present tender outcomes and recommendations to client stakeholders.
• Oversee CPA production, tooling contracts and quality control documentation.
• Manage project execution through prototyping, production sign‑off and hand‑over to job managers.
• Transition production to new vendors when appropriate, sourcing directly from manufacturers.
• Ensure adherence to the global "One Way of Working" strategy across all projects.

Knowledge, Skills + Experience

• Experienced professional with strong commercial knowledge in permanent display and retail.
• Skilled negotiator capable of influencing at all levels.
• Experience in business process re‑engineering and procurement outsourcing.
• Highly developed relationship management skills and ability to build excellent client‑team relationships.
• Capability to constructively challenge client‑facing teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Appropriate technical qualifications; preferably CIPS or another recognised professional qualification.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
