The IDS SDLM (Software Lifecycle Development Management) Manager is responsible for driving the execution of large, complex inter-disciplinary programs and projects through the project development life cycle. The individual works closely with IDS Leadership, Product (sponsors), Systems, and stakeholder teams to support IDS’ product investment strategy aligned with InServ goals, define a program scope and deliverables, and manage funding, budget, deadlines and staffing for each program. The IDS SDLM Program/PMO Lead leads project teams of Project Managers, Analysts, Developers, and Testers to ensure the successful delivery of program goals and adherence to execution standards.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with sponsors and stakeholders to understand product roadmap, investment strategy, set program priorities, and ensure budget and resources funding and staffing are available to meet program delivery goals.
- Drives the execution of a portfolio of projects that cross multiple applications, services/products, and/or divisions.
- Ensures projects are delivered on plan and business objectives are achieved.
- Provides leadership across virtual teams to resolve issues and constraints that could impact successful delivery; facilitates resolution through workshops, business design and collaboration exercises.
- Facilitates trade-off decisions between quality, costs, resources, scope, and time to prioritize demand.
- Provides overall leadership and guidance to the team and coordinates schedules and other program activities; effectively manages and allocates resources to ensure deliverables are completed.
- Present program updates to line of business/division senior leadership teams and/or oversight committees.
- Provide updates, communicate effectively, and negotiate with project sponsors, stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Ensure adherence to IDS project execution standards and the Firm’s SDLC standards.
- Refine and assist in the development of our project delivery tools and processes.
- Lead strategic portfolio and PMO changes, process rollouts, and quality control.
Qualifications
- Relevant Professional Experience - 10+ years
- Education Level - BA or Equivalent
- Demonstrated understanding of project and program management principles, tools and techniques
- Demonstrated experience in Agile project management and execution. Waterfall to Agile transformations are a plus.
- Experience in agile development environments and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience in people management; influencing and leadership skills, including negotiation and conflict management
- Customer-focused perspective and mindset
- Strong communication and presentation skills; able to communicate effectively with division executives, clients, and other external stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in mission-critical environments, managing interdependencies between projects and business and systems functions
- Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in risk management
- Experience in change management; ability to learn, adapt, and apply new concepts and technologies
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Clarity, MS Project, JIRA)
- Proficient in MS Office applications
