Program Manager
Your responsibilities
- Developing trust and manage the relationship with customers in ensuring that a shared understanding of key issues between all parties is maintained.
- Lead all change management, delay (EOT) management and contractual claims and manage together with the Commercial-Contract Manager/Quantity Surveyor.
- Define all subcontract/supply requirements and work with Supply Chain to ensure all subcontractor/supplier contracts and orders are appropriate for the project from a scope/cost and risk viewpoint. Lead or participate in negotiations as necessary
- Deliver to the financial objectives for the project and control billing and costs for the project. Drive project team to maintain Estimated Actual Cost at completion
- Administer the financial position of the project using Honeywell’s and GMP accounting systems. Provide regular and accurate estimate at completion of costs for the project.
- Undertake detailed planning, scheduling and reporting of the project to manage resource allocation, avoid bottlenecks and adhere to early warning and intervention systems as detailed in the GMP Management Operating System.
- Responsible for a project team of multi-skilled employees, including maintaining the project Safety Plan and EH&S responsibilities within the team. This includes overall responsibility for the project Quality Management System and auditing thereof.
- Drive the project team to minimize the cost of labor in delivering a successful project through the use of low-cost resources while minimizing defects and rework.
Our requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Information Technology
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management are preferred - Further education in management or project management would also be advantageous.
- Over 15 years proven experience in project management including budget ownership/management, resource allocation, scheduling, forecasting and planning.
- Proven project experience involving multiple technology systems such as Building Technologies, Information Technologies or Network Solutions
- Proven ability to develop and lead multiple teams.
- Proven commercial/contractual acumen

As a Program Manager here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in guiding and managing engineering programs.
Candidate needs the competencies, skill sets, experience profile and professional maturity to deliver the entire portfolio of a highly complex bid management process including but not limited to Honeywell selling and positioning strategies, value propositions, supply chain negotiations full cost estimates etc, and then subsequent successful execution of any awarded Project; managing and delegating all departmental and functional disciplines including Safety, Commercial, Planning, QA/QC, Specialized Engineering disciplines, Planning, Commissioning, ORAT etc. Dealing and negotiating with executive Steering Committee Board members, High-level Client Teams, CEO’s of specialist suppliers and other entities, leveraging VIP relationships and navigating the political environment.
