Job Description
Program Manager
Position Summary
The Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the service location, including management and supervision of direct support staff, supervisors, and program individuals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Writing Skills
- Participates in shared planning by assisting each participant to identify and communicate their requests and needs for services and supports.
- Reports progress, significant changes/events to Support Coordinators quarterly by completing reviews.
- Records participant finances for outings and entertainment.
Treatment
- Coordinates and integrates programs and services including admission, discharges, service planning, etc.
- Ensures that the Person-Centered approach is cohesive, consistent with the programs philosophy and policy, and is outcome-based.
- Monitors supports to ensure that each participants goals and desired outcomes are being addressed based on assessments, interviews, and observations. Conducts team meetings to review participant needs.
- Member of SIS and ISP teams.
- Communicates with parents, guardians, residential staff, support coordinators, stakeholders areas of concern, changes and documents the interactions.
Supervision
- Hires and fires staff; writes employee performance reviews.
- Trains staff on new and changing programs to ensure correct and timely implementation. Arranges new-hire and annual staff training.
- Reviews progress notes weekly for thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Works with the Director to ensure compliant policies, procedures, and recordkeeping.
- Supervises the administration of medication and maintenance of the MAR.
- Responsible for the quality of care and the physical environment of the program.
- Serves as DSP as needed in the absence of direct support staff.
Operations
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Warsaw location.
- Risk Manager - Maintains a proactive risk management program that complies with federal, state, and local regulations; determines safety and security risks; finds ways to reduce those risks through planning and problem-solving; and helps to minimize risk in day-to-day operations through performing assessments and training.
- Monitors physical plant for necessary repairs. Works with contractors as needed.
- Member of the Quality Improvement Team.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment needed for participant and effective building operation.
- Supervises the development of the weekly/monthly community outing schedule. Develops new opportunities for community involvement.
Reporting Relationship
- Reports directly to the Director.
- Administrative staff for site location.
- Supervises direct support staff.
- Works in a team environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to include the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts and build teams.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Computer literate and the ability to teach new skills related to current technology.
- Ability and willingness to assist participants in activities of daily living, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Degree in Human Services field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in supervision, service planning, and crisis intervention.
- Strong writing, interpersonal, and computer skills.
- Must have experience with ID/DD population and behavior management.
