Job Description

Program Manager

Position Summary

The Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the service location, including management and supervision of direct support staff, supervisors, and program individuals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Writing Skills

  1. Participates in shared planning by assisting each participant to identify and communicate their requests and needs for services and supports.
  2. Reports progress, significant changes/events to Support Coordinators quarterly by completing reviews.
  3. Records participant finances for outings and entertainment.

Treatment

  1. Coordinates and integrates programs and services including admission, discharges, service planning, etc.
  2. Ensures that the Person-Centered approach is cohesive, consistent with the programs philosophy and policy, and is outcome-based.
  3. Monitors supports to ensure that each participants goals and desired outcomes are being addressed based on assessments, interviews, and observations. Conducts team meetings to review participant needs.
  4. Member of SIS and ISP teams.
  5. Communicates with parents, guardians, residential staff, support coordinators, stakeholders areas of concern, changes and documents the interactions.

Supervision

  1. Hires and fires staff; writes employee performance reviews.
  2. Trains staff on new and changing programs to ensure correct and timely implementation. Arranges new-hire and annual staff training.
  3. Reviews progress notes weekly for thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  4. Works with the Director to ensure compliant policies, procedures, and recordkeeping.
  5. Supervises the administration of medication and maintenance of the MAR.
  6. Responsible for the quality of care and the physical environment of the program.
  7. Serves as DSP as needed in the absence of direct support staff.

Operations

  1. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Warsaw location.
  2. Risk Manager - Maintains a proactive risk management program that complies with federal, state, and local regulations; determines safety and security risks; finds ways to reduce those risks through planning and problem-solving; and helps to minimize risk in day-to-day operations through performing assessments and training.
  3. Monitors physical plant for necessary repairs. Works with contractors as needed.
  4. Member of the Quality Improvement Team.
  5. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment needed for participant and effective building operation.
  6. Supervises the development of the weekly/monthly community outing schedule. Develops new opportunities for community involvement.

Reporting Relationship

  1. Reports directly to the Director.
  2. Administrative staff for site location.
  3. Supervises direct support staff.
  4. Works in a team environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to include the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts and build teams.
  2. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  3. Computer literate and the ability to teach new skills related to current technology.
  4. Ability and willingness to assist participants in activities of daily living, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  1. Degree in Human Services field or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience in supervision, service planning, and crisis intervention.
  3. Strong writing, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  4. Must have experience with ID/DD population and behavior management.
