Production Engineering Specialist

Contract Type: UOP

Work Model: Hybrid, twice a week from the office in Krakow – to be agreed upon

Description

We are looking for skilled individuals for the Global Payments Solution Team. The team is responsible for technical stability and systems lifecycle for a lot of Tier0 and Tier1 payments systems. The GPS Team (Global Payments Solution) consists of many smaller subteams with around 5-10 people each. Each of them handles different technology and systems responsible for unique steps in the global payment flow. The team works in a mission-critical environment across a breadth of technologies from vendor products to in-house developed microservices. This offer is aimed at people who are eager to work in a dynamic team supporting complex application environments and to use progressive technology with a priority on stability and automation of daily work. Because of various technologies used around Global Payment Solution, candidates will have opportunities to grow and learn new skills, especially technologies used around real-time processing.

Team

Current team - 50+ members - mostly based in Poland. Cooperation with colleagues abroad.



The team supports the maintenance of over 40 payments applications and their future pipeline is about 100. The applications are written in various languages and frameworks.

Key Requirements for the Position

• Experience in SQL and PL/SQL
• Knowledge of Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and components
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation purposes
• Knowledge of system monitoring and performance tuning
• Understanding of security best practices
• Understanding of the payment processing lifecycle and protocols
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Production support of payment systems
• Troubleshooting - bugs identifying and fixing - processors, applications, memory
• Performance improvement - root causes analysis, solutions providing, systems improvement, reduction of time spent on support
• Work with documentation

Essential Requirements for Role

• Experience in system and application support
• Independence in task performance
• Creativity and ability to take up engineering work, not only repetitive tasks
• Will to develop
• SQL, Linux, Kubernetes, Python/Bash (at least 2 of these 4 skills need to be in CV)

Preferable Requirements for Role

Preferable Requirements for role: Candidates who have worked on helpdesk, L1 or L2 support.

Work

• 2 days a week in the office in Krakow – to be agreed upon
• Once a month, there is a weekend shift (9 AM to 5 PM). Saturdays – employees can take a day off + 150% of the daily rate for work over 8 hours. Sundays – the option to take back hours during the week or receive 200% of the daily rate.
