Production Engineering Specialist

We are looking for skilled individuals for the Global Payments Solution Team. Team is responsible for technical stability and systems lifecycle for a lot of Tier0 and Tier1 payments systems. GPS Team (Global Payments Solution) consists of many smaller subteams with around 5-10 people each. Each of them handles different technology and systems responsible for unique step in global payment flow. Team work in mission critical environment across a breadth of technologies from vendor products to in-house developed micro services.

Responsibilities

• Providing full scope of the day-to-day Production Support - troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize system downtime and impact on business operations.
• Provide technical support to end users, addressing queries and resolving issues related to production applications.
• Document and manage incidents using ticketing systems, ensuring thorough tracking and resolution of issues.
• Work closely with a development team to address bugs, implement fixes and perform root cause analysis.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance system efficiency & reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide coverage for critical production issues/changes during weekends.
• Report and investigate alerts related to payments using SQL/Splunk, while maintaining the SLAs.
• Assist with the deployment of new applications, updates and patches to production environments, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal impact on users/operation

What you39ll need to succeed 

• Experience in SQL and PL/SQL. Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and components.
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation purposes.
• Knowledge of system monitoring and performance tuning. Understanding of security best practices.
• Understanding of the payment processing lifecycle and protocols.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
