About the Position

This is a full-time, in-office position in Krakow, suitable for newly graduated. As a Production Editor, you will partake in the process of publishing research articles. Through your work, you will help to make the world of science more accessible to a large public. MDPI cares about each employee from the first day by providing extensive training and tools to develop their full potential.

Job Summary

Once accepted for publication, articles must be prepared to company and industry standards in PDF, XML, and HTML formats. This work is carried out by a production team using custom software developed by MDPI.



Responsibilities:

• Supporting the editorial process for academic research journals with copy-editing
• Communicating and cooperating with editors to ensure a high-quality and rapid publication
• Technical formatting of English scientific manuscripts (Word or LaTeX files)
• Converting Word or LaTeX files to XML files
• Using customized software to layout scientific manuscripts
• Converting XML files to new LaTeX files, ensuring that a new PDF file can be generated in high quality

Your Profile:

• A Bachelor or Master’s degree in any subject
• Good command of English—at least B2 level
• General computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office
• Computer programming skills and familiarity with XHTML or XML can be an asset
• Previous experience in editing can be an advantage
• Excellent self-organization and attention to detail
• Willingness to collaborate as part of an international team
• Good time management skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams
