At Valeo Powertrain Systems in Czechowice-Dziedzice we produce advanced drive systems for the automotive industry. In our activities, we focus on modern and ecological technologies, thanks to which we are a pioneer of these solutions in Poland, while contributing to ensuring a clean and low-emission future in the automotive industry. We design and produce electric drive motors for passenger cars. We also deal with other drive systems that help reduce fuel consumption and lower exhaust emissions - including the creation of innovative electric turbochargers.
We are one of the few factories in Poland that produce electric motors and focus on a large product variety. We also have a modern R&D center where we improve our products.
We are looking for a Product Technical Leader in our Thermal motors module team in the R&D Center in Czechowice. As a Product Technical Leader you will be responsible for the deliverables of R&D dues to ensure the success of the project. You will be responsible for the detailed scheduling and budgeting of R&D activities, with support of “Disciplines”.
Responsibilities
- Follow and implement the Product Development Process (PDP) defined for their Product Group (PG) and/or Product Line (PL), using the principles of CLEAN Project Management (CPM)
- In charge of the robust design in line with the economical targets
- Applies Standardization rules, exceptionally will request de standardizations based on sound justifications
- Call for all necessary design reviews
- Make sure that Design Reviews of other networks are happening in a timely manner (Purchase, Industrial)
- Represent the R&D function at the customer
- Interface with the customer for the R&D subjects of the project, break down and cascade internally customer requests and needs
- Report and escalate to his project manager or R&D manager as needed
- Responsible for the detailed scheduling and budgeting
- Contribute to the identification of the needs in terms of resources, equipment, investments
- Establish detail break down of the activities to meet the milestones
- Follow activities and spending of his scope to meet his allowed budget
- Daily management of all R&D contributors, dedicated or not
- Assign to them the work packages needed
- Regular review with his/her R&D manager or Product Manager and the Discipline Department Managers to check alignment between needs and availabilities
LET’S TALK ABOUT YOU
- University degree in electrical or mechatronic engineering
- Min. 3-5 years of experience in project as a team member
- Experience with the development of new products (P2 projects) and/or deployment of products into mass production for OEM customers (P1 projects)
- Experience with the electrical motors is an advantage
- Advanced level of English to communicate with international teams
- Experience in automotive or aviation industry
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to drive product success from ideation to launch
- Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills
- Readiness to travel few times per year (mainly in Europe)
