Role Overview
The Alternative Product Team provides process and application development and support to Alternative Fund Accounting, Fund Administration, Custody, and Transfer Agency teams. As a key member of this group, the analyst will work closely with internal business teams to analyze business processes (Corporate Consolidation, Accounting), develop business requirements, liaise with developers and vendors, create and execute UAT plans and scripts, document procedures, provide support, and execute implementation plans, including training and rollout.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Consolidation and Accounting systems
- Write and review business requirements
- Facilitate developer or vendor analysis and creation of design documents and functional specifications
- Create and execute User Acceptance Testing plans and scripts
- Document procedures
- Create and execute implementation plans
- Manage project plans
- Analyze and design automated solutions to business problems
- Provide ongoing system support
- Participate in team and interdepartmental projects
- Maintain static data
Accounting & Consolidation
- Understand accounting and consolidation principles
Client Service
- Act as Subject Matter Expert / Level 1 Support for the application portfolio, business operations, and client questions, especially on the use of BBH Consolidation and Accounting systems
Control & Risk Management
- Understand the impact of work product and potential risks; attention to detail is critical
Qualifications
- Primary degree in accounting, banking, finance, economics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an accounting/consolidation, business analyst, or QA analyst (preferred)
- Prior involvement or experience in financial services, especially the fund industry (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office
- Experience working with accounting department users and the development team
- Familiarity with Oracle EPM system, SmartView, Jira, Confluence, and QTest is a plus
