Your impact
At Jacobs, were embarking on an exciting journey as we initiate the development of our Digital & Data Hub in Krakow. Our mission is to undertake projects spanning various industries, including Consumer and Manufacturing, Defence and Security, Energy and Utilities, Financial Services, Government and Public Services, Health and Life Sciences, and Transport.
Jacobs is seeking a high-caliber Senior Applications Engineer to be part of our growing team. This team member will work on the back-end of StreetLight SaaS web applications (InSight Planning, InSight Operations) that our subscription customers use to explore and visualize travel patterns in the real world.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate company strategy and customer needs into actionable product increments ensuring alignment with Minimum Adoptable Product standards and maintaining a prioritized transparent Product Backlog
- Present product plans and status across the organization acting as the main liaison between teams and stakeholders
- Lead agile ceremonies support sprint goals and resolve scope or technical conflicts throughout the development lifecycle
- Build deep understanding of the transportation industry customer use cases and StreetLight’s platform including data metrics and visualizations
- Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering teams to scope estimate and deliver product features aligned with platform capabilities
- Gather and align requirements from business design and technical teams to ensure cross-functional clarity and execution
- Identify and communicate risks blockers and dependencies that may impact product delivery or strategic objectives
What you’ll need
- 3+ years of product ownership
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science or Civil
- Proven ability to gather and transform complex market and customer data into insights that drive prioritized product roadmaps
- Experience working collaboratively with data scientists, engineers, QA and support teams to define and deliver products, manage release schedules and support go to market activities
- Strong background in Agile Development methodologies
- Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills for presenting complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office and project management platforms
- Highly organized logical thinker with a proactive attitude capable of breaking down large projects into manageable tasks and timelines
- Committed to using data to measure performance and inform decisions while balancing intuition, market demand, competitive response and customer satisfaction
Nice to have
- Experience in a SaaS product environment into the commercial/governmental market is a strong plus
- Working with commercial software companies focused on big data, mobility, navigation, or machine learning in a quantitative field
- Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tools and technologies
