Jacobs is seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the execution of a work package within the Design Automation program. This person will work closely with product management team to support the development of innovative solutions in a dynamic technological environment.
The Product Owner will be responsible for advancing their tool through the full product lifecycle from ideation, through development, to deployment. Key responsibilities also include managing the schedule, budget, and monitoring performance and progress in the execution of the work package.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the team and overseeing execution related to backlog and roadmap planning
- Ensuring timely, budget‑compliant, and high‑quality delivery of the approved scope of work
- Collaborating with the Resource Manager on resource allocation and sprint planning
- Coordinating with technical teams (Engineering, Architecture) to ensure alignment with technology and best practices
- Monitoring expenditures (Opex/Capex), managing changes and risks
- Overseeing the process from Incubation to Sustainment, including organizing Critical Design Reviews and verifying deliverables
- Regular communication with stakeholders and support for marketing activities
- Coordinating work with external vendors, ensuring quality, scope, and budget compliance of delivered solutions
- Supporting the transition of mature tools to operational teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within an Agile environment
- Experience in leading development teams and managing product backlogs
- Familiarity with software development processes, including Agile practices, DevOps, and product lifecycle management
- Understanding of IT project budgeting principles (Opex vs. Capex) and the ability to monitor expenditures
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and report progress effectively
- Strategic problem solving and decision making capabilities
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with teams responsible for communications, adoption, organizational change, and marketing
