Mission of a Product Manager
- Lead the product team toward a clear mission and overarching product vision through a solid product strategy.
- Define products that solve real user problems and meet business needs.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Ensure product discovery takes place to understand and address user needs and problems, delivering valuable, usable, feasible, and viable solutions.
- Own the product life cycle, including when to sunset functionality, services, or products.
- Develop deep domain knowledge and serve as the go-to expert for the product(s).
- Act as the product’s number one evangelist and communicate product evolution outside the team.
- Manage expectations with stakeholders and align with PMs, PAs, and cross‑functional teams.
- Gather requirements, bug reports, and feedback, sharing insights and best practices.
- Serve as Product Owner within agile teams, protecting focus and prioritizing initiatives.
- Maintain a prioritized backlog and roadmap that balances functional and non‑functional aspects, ensuring safety, stability, and scalability.
- Track metrics, KPIs, and processes to evaluate delivery success.
- Represent the product team in quarterly planning and apply MVP/MLP methodologies for market launches.
- Empower and inspire the team, celebrating wins and learning from failures.
