Overview
Seeking world-class talent to join the world’s leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services. This Product Manager role will lead a newly formed team to build the next generation Catalog platforms at GPC. You will work with a highly talented team to build and run one of the world’s largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations. The Product Manager is responsible for delivering business value to drive sales, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction through quality products. You will lead the strategic vision and product roadmap across the customer journey and ensure all products align to the vision. You will identify interdependencies with other products within the journey, support business reviews, communicate the product vision, and present across all levels of the organization. You will also improve product management and delivery practices.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities
- Strategic: Owns and maintains product roadmap.
- Strategic: Works with product & business leadership to evaluate and prioritize opportunities.
- Strategic: Collaborate with engineering to translate business strategy into technology product strategy.
- Strategic: Maintain knowledge of competitive landscape and technology innovations.
- Strategic: Drives growth by applying domain expertise to provide thought leadership and translate vision into action.
- Execution: Defines and communicates value propositions, OKRs, success metrics, and outcomes.
- Execution: Develop deep knowledge of business processes for the domain.
- Execution: Drive prioritization of product capabilities.
- Execution: Collaborate and drive cross-domain prioritization and sequencing of activities.
- Execution: Create, document, and track KPIs to measure relevant business goals for the domain.
- Stakeholder Management: Represent domain during enterprise planning and discovery.
- Stakeholder Management: Manage stakeholder expectations to ensure scoping, backlog and delivery align with product strategy.
- Stakeholder Management: Provide regular updates to the product roadmap.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with all product development stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of products & features.
- Tactical: Represent business throughout the technology development process.
- Tactical: Document requirements (functional and non-functional) via epics, features and user stories.
- Tactical: Maintain and prioritize product backlog.
- Tactical: Track releases and communicate delivery roadmap.
- Tactical: Plan and conduct user showcases and acceptance testing.
- Tactical: Work with agile practitioners and engineering to improve the delivery lifecycle.
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications & Experiences
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields, or equivalent years of experience.
- 8 years’ experience in product and/or experience management.
- 8 years’ experience in scrum/agile development methodology.
- 8 years’ experience participating in product backlog prioritization and grooming/refinement.
- 8 years of product ownership and helping drive road-mapping, planning and delivery in an agile environment.
- 8 years’ experience designing Cataloging Data Management and Distribution solutions using PIM / MDM Platforms (e.g., STIBO STEP) or similar.
- 8 years’ experience designing cataloging data management/distribution processes and solutions for the Automotive Aftermarkets domain (a plus).
- Knowledge of Automotive Aftermarket Industry Catalog Exchange Standards like ACES and PIES (a plus).
- Experience in defining strategy and road map for exposing catalog, vehicle, location platform services via APIs and feeds.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to use data to solve problems and plan.
- Experience mentoring and managing product owners (a plus).
- Experience in B2B and retail business (a plus).
- Mastery of identifying goals, metrics and analytics to measure product value.
- Proficiency in creating, prioritizing and accepting user stories.
- Proficiency in conducting user research and testing to understand needs.
- Proficiency in conducting competitive research and analysis.
- Ability to guide more junior team members through Product Management fundamentals.
