Purpose of the Job
- To realize an estimation achievable of the technical cost of the parts and assembly,
- To support the Engineering team in the Design to Cost way of working,
- To participate at the creation of the target cost in frame of tender and project,
- Reinforce Procurement supplier negotiation thanks should cost analysis.
Key Network & Links
- Tender Team, Project Engineering Core Team and Engineering Metier (TC/TS/TE/TD/RAMS etc)
- Product Cost Manager and Engineer,
- Train Cost Manager and Engineer,
- Sourcing Team,
- Central Team and Other SEC sites.
Performance Measurement / KPI
- Use the adequate cost model to calculate the technical cost of the Product,
- Detect the most important cost drivers of the Product,
- Purpose improvements of the design to reduce the technical and Industrial cost,
- Support engineering in the design of cost competitive solutions,
- Promote the cost culture in the Engineering team,
- Provide the cost breakdown of the Product,
- Negotiation support for Sourcing Team.
Responsibilities
Based on the Design of the Product and several assumptions (industrial, sourcing):
- Develop costing tools for the costing network,
- Calculate the technical cost (Should Cost / Could Cost) of the Product by using the appropriated tool,
- Ensure that the Product is fully feasible,
- Check the industrial process,
- Ensure consistency of the assumptions.
Contribute to the improvement of the Costing métier:
- To be a referent on a process or a family of product,
- Generate and formalize DesignTo Cost Ideas,
- Formalize the saving opportunities,
- Support technical business cases,
- Way of working,
- Share the feedback coming from the supplier,
- Involvement in network (REX, practices, etc.).
Key requirements:
- Automotive or Industrial background,
- Desirable good MS Office, SAP and CATIA V5 skills,
- Good Industrial Product and Process knowledge and good Product competitiveness knowledge,
- Cost breakdown knowledge,
- Curious, Open-minded, Rigorous with good communication with other people,
- English speaker is a must.
