How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

For the HSES Health Safety Environment and Security Department of Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions Poland S.A., we are looking for:

Process Safety Engineer

This role is located in Kraków, Poland, and will require business travel.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Management Strategy

    • Preparing technical risk management plans for the design phase.
    • Deciding and advising on the appropriate assessment tools in order to manage the particular process safety risks associated with the project.
    • Presenting and explaining safety concepts and approach to Clients.
    • Assessing Client’s requirements on safety standards and tools and supporting the Proposal and Project management in contract negotiations.
    • Supporting technical disciplines in identifying and interpreting the external standards and internal Air Liquide standards applicable to the project.
  • Hazard Identification and Analysis

    • Planning, organizing, supporting and managing qualitative and quantitative safety studies in projects of all technology types such as HAZOP, HAZID, What-If, SIL, LOPA.
    • Analysis of process hazards (e.g. fire, explosion, overpressure, chemical reactions, toxicity) to provide further insight into the consequences and ways to develop effective prevention and mitigation.
    • Modeling analysis work using the DNV software PHAST and in-house calculation tools.
    • Supporting the creation of the fire and gas detection concept.
    • Supporting the development of hazardous area classification documentation.
  • Functional Safety

    • Facilitating the application of the Functional Safety Lifecycle in Projects by providing general advice and guidance to the project team.
    • Establishing the Functional Safety Management Plan for the Project.
    • Facilitating team reviews of the Safety Requirement Specification (SRS).
    • Participating in Functional Safety Audits and Assessments.
  • Site work (worldwide travel)

    • Advising the commissioning manager on safety matters.
    • Conducting Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.

Are you a MATCH?

  • University degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline that has a strong focus on Process Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in process engineering and/or process safety.
  • Ability and desire to be a generalist; interpreting and assessing technical information from a variety of processes including several novel technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, poise, and assertiveness.
  • Autonomous working style and analytical mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills and good teamwork capabilities.
  • Very good command of English (both spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Willingness to further develop your professional skills.
  • Command of the French language would be an additional asset.
