Actively participate in all actions delegated to a global team of Material Experts focused on Aptiv’s Hardware Platforms for automotive electronic systems in the area of materials. This role includes multiple facets of Aptiv’s materials’ strategy development, including: launch of new materials and related technologies, constant engagement with suppliers and Mechanical Department; maintenance of PPAPs for automotive parts, support for problem solving, being an active contributor to R&D activities in the area of materials and development of all annual KPIs to assure positive measurable contributions to the business.

Your role:

1. Work on Aptiv’s materials strategies for key areas: Sensors (camera, radar, sound), Infotainment and Domain controllers (safety and body).
2. Engagement with advanced engineering, global start centers, design teams, product lines and purchasing to assure proper sourcing of needed material technologies, including an advisory role.
3. Implement customer testing methods for material specifications and environmental performance. Ensure plausibility of test data and results, and come up with decisions, and propose further steps. Responsible for material tests results, verification tests results and documentation, including material reports (SoC / IMDS / CAMDS), RoHS, REACH and others.
4. Involvement in the engagement activities with important/high-risk suppliers to drive “safe launch” of new materials.
