As a Principal Data Analyst you’ll design and implement a system supporting the investment process for the US-based venture capital firm. You’ll need to integrate data from multiple systems and sources to enable data insights, machine learning and data-driven decision processes. 


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work hands-on with data capture, data extraction, analysis, reporting, and visualization to drive data-driven decision-making
  • Working closely with the product team in US (east and west coasts)
  • Proactivity in finding solutions based on discussions with product and data engineering teams
  • Translating business needs into technical requirements
  • Partner with stakeholders to resolve key data issues involving the quality and consistency of data for analytical purposes
  • Enhance the organizations capabilities for self-service data and analytics
  • Build and manage data visualization in BI tooling
  • Tackling most challenging technical problems and finding solutions
  • Rapidly iterate based on team feedback and quickly produce useful results and tooling



Requirements


Whats important for us?

  • At least 7 years of professional experience as a data analyst/engineer
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Excellent experience of complex SQL query writing on Snowflake or alternatives 
  • String experience with BI tools like Looker, Tableau, Sigma
  • Good expertise in relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
  • Expertise in DBT and DBT Cloud
  • Proficiency in data architecture and modeling
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Passion about good engineering practices and ability to inspire the team
  • Experience with Git version control systems
  • Passion, self-reliance and ‘get things done’ approach
  • Proactiveness and positive attitude to work (and life:))
  • Fluent English (C1 or above)
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in venture & startups
  • Self-drive and passion for taking ownership of your work and delivering outcomes
  • Ability to demonstrate high self-sufficiency to take on and lead projects end to end


You will score extra points for:

  • Team or project leading experience
  • Expertise in Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery or Databricks
  • Ability to design, implement and monitor data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud, especially ECS, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, S3, RDS
  • Experience with infrastructure and deployment automation with Terraform 
  • Experience with Airflow
  • Experience with NiceGUI or alternatives like Streamlit
