• 7+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA, including hands-on operational expertise in managing production databases.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale PostgreSQL environments with replication, clustering, or partitioning.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, extensions and tools.
• Expertise in SQL query optimization and debugging.
• Strong knowledge of Linux environments, including shell scripting and system-level troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Grafana, or pgAdmin.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize operational tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

NICE TO HAVE:

• PostgreSQL certifications such as PostgreSQL CE or equivalent.

,[Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases on Linux and Windows environments., Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations., Ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations are in place and tested., Monitor database performance using tools and custom scripts., Analyze and resolve database bottlenecks and provide recommendations for query optimization and schema design improvements., Manage back up and recovery strategies., Ensure RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective) compliance through rigorous testing., Implement and maintain database security, encryption, and auditing., Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and remediate findings., Develop scripts for automating routine using Bash, Python, or equivalent., Enhance operational efficiency through CI/CD pipeline integration for database changes., Proactively monitor the health and performance of database systems, identifying and addressing issues before they impact users., Document operational procedures, standards, and best practices., Work closely with development, DevOps and Infra Ops teams to support database-related needs.
