responsibilities :
Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across development, testing, and production environments.
Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexes, and configurations to ensure high efficiency.
Implement and manage backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
Perform regular maintenance tasks such as vacuuming, indexing, and partitioning.
Ensure database security by implementing access controls, data encryption, and regular audits.
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum availability.
Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patches.
Maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and best practices.
Provide on-call support for database-related incidents.
requirements-expected :
3+ years of experience managing PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
Strong proficiency in SQL and query optimization techniques.
Experience with PostgreSQL replication (logical and streaming) and backup strategies (e.g., pg_basebackup, pgBackRest).
Familiarity with PostgreSQL extensions such as PostGIS, pgAudit, or pgBouncer.
Knowledge of partitioning, indexing, and query optimization in PostgreSQL.
Hands-on experience with Linux systems for database management and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of data security and compliance requirements.
Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Nagios, or Grafana for PostgreSQL performance tracking.
