Due to our expansion into Europe, we have recently opened our first office in Katowice, Poland . We are seeking a Mechanical Draftsman to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG).

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Perform the design and drafting of mechanical plant models using applicable standards, project technical specifications, criteria, and project procedures.
• Prepare 3D layout and equipment models; including development of design details.
• Generate 2D drawings from the 3D model; and perform checking.
• Organize and store documents and models.
• Understand the owner/user requirements and the project mission.
• Assist in interpreting the plant PFDs, P&IDs, and plant battery limits and constraints.
• Use vendor data, drawings, and information to develop and verify the 3D model.
• Create and maintain models of all equipment as vendor data is received.
• Coordinate with other designers and engineers on the project team.
• Provide material quantity take-offs for estimating purposes or inclusion into bulk commodity purchases and installation contracts.
• Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to Quality and Safety in design.
• Work and communicate positively as the mechanical discipline lead within a multidisciplinary team of design leads.
• Ensure mechanical design activities align with the overall project mission and user requirements.
• Ensure successful delivery of major milestone reviews for all assigned design packages.
• Deliver 3D model, drawings, and clash detection reports.
• Perform checks of 3D models and drawings developed by others.
• Manage budgets, schedule, and deliverables related to the design.
• Work with construction to align deliverables with contractual requirements.
• Provide mentorship and supervision to the design team.
• Provide regular feedback to the mechanical project lead on progress with preparation of deliverables.

You bring to the role:

Qualifications and Experience:

• A qualification from technical college or equivalent with focus on Engineering, Design, 3D Modelling, and 2D Drafting. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the 3-D/2-D mechanical design development of heavy industrial facilities; experience in mineral processing plants preferred.
• Design proficiently in 3D and 2D design environments.
• Experience working and coordinating within a multi-discipline design project.
• Knowledge of project delivery, including activities, interfaces, and interdependence of all project disciplines.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to engage and coordinate the design with client representatives.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong deliverable focus with a proven ability to attain quality and schedule objectives while maintaining budgets.
• Experience with greenfield and brownfield interfaces, including constructability experience.
• Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions.
