Loking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Junior Control and Automation Designer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Katowice.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  1. Adhere to and promote the Hatch corporate safety culture.
  2. Be responsible for the development and production of 3D models, 2D drawings, and MTO deliverables in a Bentley environment.
  3. Coordinate work with the lead engineer/designer, including taking responsibility for timely completion of deliverables.
  4. Review and be responsible for the quality of designs performed by yourself and others in the design team, if required.
  5. Prioritize project or program discipline actions to achieve deliverable quality and adherence to schedule.
  6. Prepare design concepts for internal and client reviews in collaboration with the discipline lead.
  7. Produce detailed engineering design drawings and documentation for the project. Develop deliverables using BRCM .
  8. Perform 3D model clash detection and coordinate design with other disciplines through interactions and design reviews.
  9. Extract 2D drawings from 3D models and prepare 2D layouts for instruments (inline and offline), cable trays, lighting, grounding, equipment, etc.
  10. Perform complex plant layout and instrumentation systems using 3D design modeling tools (Bentley & Smart Plant suite).
  11. Contribute to the development of different multidisciplinary design solutions. Provide guidance on Hatch quality standards.
  12. Be responsible for design work related to quantity estimation efforts on project or program including direct quantity (MTO) take-off from a 3D model, 2D drawings, sketches, and historical data.
  13. Resolve design issues throughout the project lifecycle as required.
  14. Apply industry best practices, applicable codes, and standards.
  15. Manage the schedule on project or program including multidiscipline interactions, if required.

You bring to the role:

Essential

  1. Diploma in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  2. More than 5 years of engineering design experience.
  3. Bentley Raceway and Cable Management (BRCM) 3D modeling experience or equivalent software.
  4. Extensive experience with MicroStation 3D, SP3D & Proficient in Smart Plant Review (SPR) or equivalent software.
  5. Possesses design and modeling skills for industrial plant layout, design, and detailing.
  6. Sound knowledge of industry or regulatory codes and standards.
  7. Experience with multidisciplinary design coordination.
  8. Sound knowledge of workflows for instrumentation systems.
  9. Understanding of other discipline requirements.
  10. Willingness to stretch, take ownership, and be quality conscious.
  11. Openness to multitasking.
  12. Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  1. SmartPlant SP3D modeling experience.
  2. Experience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPCM environment.
  3. Exposure to software platforms such as SharePoint, Blue Beam, Scope list.
  4. Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions.
