One of the flagship platforms, Group Electronic Communication Surveillance (GECS), provides worldwide regulatory surveillance capabilities by analysing electronic communication traffic such as emails and instant messages to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Your new role
As a Platform Engineer (Data Specialization), you will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable data platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Leveraging GCP services (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, Dataflow) to support analytics workloads.
Administering and optimising databases such as Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
Ensuring high availability, security, and performance of data platforms.
Collaborating with data engineers, software engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver robust solutions.
Troubleshooting and resolving network and connectivity issues.
Automating deployment, scaling, and management of data services.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its computing services.
Hands-on expertise with Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
Strong understanding of networking concepts in cloud environments.
Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager) is an advantage.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
