Infrastructure Architecture is comprised of: 


 - Enterprise Architects responsible for 3–5-year technical strategy, underpinning the Future State Architecture.  

 - Solution Architecture aligned to each Global Business to manage & optimise the portfolio of infrastructure services used, driving operational improvement & cost efficiencies, and providing cost effective infrastructure architecture & designs which align with overall technical strategy. 

  - Cloud Architects aligned to each Cloud Service Provider to manage Cloud capability and platform roadmaps. 

 - Technical Architects aligned by each technology to manage the infrastructure services, vendor engagement and product lifecycles.


What you’ll do

  • Support the Wealth Personal Banking (WPB) IT business projects and transformation programs by 

delivering new IT services, exploiting Cloud and infrastructure technologies, migrating applications to IaaS / PaaS platforms on internal and external cloud, driving a greater utilization of virtualisation & lower cost storage, migrating away from non-strategic technology platforms and optimising data backup and retention policies.

  • Investigate new infrastructure technologies to meet the WPB IT business requirements.
  • Provide technical governance over the Products used in HSBC through the Technical Reference Model (TRM).
  • Provide service governance of both existing and new technical non-functional service definitions maintained within an Infrastructure Service Catalogue.
  • Write and review Infrastructure Architecture Designs, approved by the WPB Infrastructure Review Board.
  • Manage relationships across HSBC IT Architecture, IT Infrastructure Delivery and WPB IT Application Development team areas on an on-going basis.
  • Deliver end to end technical infrastructure designs, ensuring Non-Functional Requirements are realised and validated.
  • Verify impact to adjacent services/systems and Validate deployment and support model as well as qualify technical acceptance of all components.



What you need to have to succeed in this role

  • Working Knowledge of: 
  • Cloud technologies: (Google GCP, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure)
  • Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

-  Databases (Oracle RAC, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

      -  Java/ Java GUI, XML/ XSLT, HTML/ Java Script

-   Infrastructure as Code

  • Passion for technology & understanding how things work.
  • A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing senior stakeholders, negotiating effectively, and winning over audiences with compelling and persuasive presentations.
  • Proven experience of leading others and creating an environment that supports and inspires people to develop and deliver.
  • A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long-term risks and implications.
