About the Role:
Are you an innovative and detail-oriented engineer with a passion for packaging design? Our client is seeking a Packaging Development Engineer to collaborate with stakeholders, drive packaging projects, and support both innovation and quality initiatives. This role involves conducting packaging tests, managing documentation, and contributing to the continuous improvement of packaging solutions across a diverse portfolio of world‑class consumer brands. The Ideal Candidate:
Experience:
- 1–2 years in a similar engineering or packaging-focused role is preferred.
- Experience planning and executing packaging projects in line with corporate standards.
- Background in supporting supplier visits, quality investigations, and the Bill of Materials process is advantageous.
Skills:
- Strong analytical approach with the ability to interpret test results and align with project criteria.
- Intermediate English (B1–B2) for clear technical communication and reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and ability to read technical drawings.
- Organised and proactive in managing documentation, samples, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering preferably packaging, mechanical, chemical, production, or materials engineering.
- Additional training in packaging technology is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver packaging projects on time and within defined scope.
- Plan and execute packaging tests, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and documented project success criteria.
- Analyse test data, update documentation (specifications, BOMs), and maintain corporate databases.
- Lead or support Bill of Material set-up, including artwork processes.
- Participate in innovation sessions and cost‑saving programs to strengthen the packaging portfolio.
- Support supplier visits, investigate quality complaints, and work closely with production and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Stay compliant with legal, corporate, and ethical standards in all packaging development activities.
- Provide administrative support in the management, storage, and shipment of samples and documents.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
