Organic Feedstock Sourcing Manager (renewable energy sector)

SWING Biomethane is an innovative and ambitious player in the biomethane sector in Europe. The company was founded in 2022 and is backed by an infrastructure fund dedicated to the energy transition. Its mission is to accelerate the production of biomethane, contributing to the decarbonisation of the gas sector and becoming a European leader through the development, financing, and operation of production sites in key European countries.

To play a key role in the procurement of sustainable raw materials for the company’s biomethane production process in Poland, we are currently looking for an Organic Feedstock Sourcing Manager.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the sourcing, negotiating, and logistics of organic raw materials for biomethane production.
2. Develop the sourcing of organic feedstock – ensure the reliable and sustainable procurement of organic materials by negotiating purchase contracts and agreements with suppliers.
3. Introduce the activities of SWING Biomethane to farmers, food manufacturers, and industry partners across Poland.
4. Actively visit and build strong relationships with suppliers; discuss quality, production volumes, logistics, and handling of their co-products.
5. Identify, evaluate, and qualify new sources of organic materials for biomethane production.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
7. Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and sustainability of sourced organic materials.
8. Manage logistics and transportation activities related to the delivery of organic feedstock to SWING Biomethane facilities.
9. Track and analyse KPIs to measure the effectiveness of feedstock sourcing strategies.
10. Monitor market trends, pricing, and regulatory developments affecting organic feedstock production.
11. Manage the disposal of the digestate deriving from the biogas production.
12. Cooperate closely with a team of project managers and report to the Country Manager Poland.

Profile:

A proactive procurement manager with affinity for renewable energy resources and agriculture.

Job Requirements:

1. Higher degree (agricultural or food production, renewable energy, environmental sciences).
2. Experience with organic feedstock sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within the renewable energy, biogas, or waste management sectors.
3. Fluent Polish and communicative English.
4. Knowledge of agricultural practices, waste-to-energy technologies, and sustainable principles.
5. Prepared for frequent travelling in a pioneering role.

1. Strong negotiation, communicative, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
2. Able to open doors and actively build partnerships with farmers and suppliers.
3. Team player, naturally ready to share knowledge, and enjoys having contacts with a wide range of stakeholders.
4. Able to work with software and tools for data analysis and project management.
5. Goal oriented, able to work independently, proactively, and in a self-directed flexible manner.
6. Eager to learn and stay up to date with regulatory requirements and certifications related to organic feedstock sourcing.
