Optical Networks Engineer - Summer Trainee

Summer Trainee is a short-term paid internship that allows you to kickstart your fabulous journey in the IT and Telecom world. Network Service Delivery Center, NI Services IP serves Nokia’s customers worldwide. Our four networks businesses are enabling a new type of network, converging mobile and fixed broadband access, IP routing, and optical networks, with the software and services to optimize network performance. We are seamlessly weaving together an increasingly diverse mix of technologies to create efficient, smart, and agile networks, and enable new types of connected services, automated, secured, and managed through the Cloud.

As part of our team, you will:

1. Get an opportunity for some hands-on experience and under supervision support real live projects during the course of the few months of internships.
2. Get familiar with our Nokia corporate values and our working culture.
3. Learn new skills and contribute to something big.

REQUIRED SKILLS

You have:

1. Active student status (for at least one year).
2. Good English, both spoken and written.
3. Solid academic background in Telecommunication – especially IP/MPLS, SDH, DWDM, TDM, PSTN, IMS.
4. Strong organizational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
5. Good understanding of technical documents (networking and programming related).
6. Experience in MS Excel, VBA, and/or SQL, Python.

It would be nice if you also had:

1. Understanding of ITIL framework.
2. Nokia/Cisco/Juniper/Huawei Routers and OS hands-on experience.
