Job Description:

Role Overview: As a Lead Engineer in Operations and Finance Technology, you will head our local technology team, steering the design and management of crucial trade processing, reference data, and financial systems. This role requires a visionary leader adept in technical innovation, team management, and stakeholder engagement. Your ability to inspire a team, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of technology and finance, will be fundamental in driving the firms success in a global collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Architect and lead the development of high-volume, distributed trade processing and financial systems, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
2. Foster team growth and proficiency as you manage and mentor your local team of engineers.
3. Act as a liaison, translating business needs into technological strategies and ensuring alignment with global development initiatives.
4. Ensure the development of reliable, recoverable, and scalable platforms, leading efforts to fortify system robustness and capability to handle growth effectively.
5. Balance hands-on technical engagement with leadership responsibilities, maintaining proactive involvement in projects.
6. Define and drive strategic roadmaps and continuous improvement, including both immediate support tasks and long-term development.

Required Qualifications:

1. At least 8 years of enterprise-level experience, including leadership roles within technology teams.
2. Advanced command of C# and service-oriented architecture as well as deep understanding of concurrent programming techniques.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage a technical team, driving both project and career development goals.
4. Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for various audiences.
5. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy.
6. Proven track record in creating detailed documentation and performing client-facing roles that bridge technology with business needs.

Desirable Experience:

1. Strong foundation in agile software development methodologies and test-driven development practices.
2. Expertise in full-stack development and contemporary UI frameworks (React JS, Angular).
3. Familiarity with Python.
4. Knowledge of FIX protocol, advanced database systems, and streaming technologies.
5. Direct hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud-based solutions.
6. In-depth understanding of US and International Equity, Fixed Income, and Commodity markets, as well as the post-trade lifecycle.
