We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to support a mission-critical authentication path on SAP BTP. The project involves SAP XSUAA, which handles OAuth2/OIDC authentication (token issuance/validation, roles/scopes). Our platform experiences very high daily authentication/API traffic with strong peak loads. Any slowdown can directly impact login and authorization functionality. The primary goal is to ensure system stability, performance, and reliability under high load conditions.

Allocation: Prefer full-time; strong part-time proposals considered.

Location: 100% remote.

NGINX Performance Engineer

Your responsibilities

• Harden and optimize NGINX/NGINX Plus for high-load environments (rate limiting, caching, performance tuning).
• Troubleshoot and resolve recurring 502/504 errors and service outages.
• Implement robust monitoring and alerting solutions (Dynatrace experience is a plus).
• Collaborate with the team to maintain security and compliance standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of deployment and operational processes.

Our requirements

• Deep expertise with NGINX/NGINX Plus in production environments.
• Proven experience with high-load troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).
• Ability to work under NDA and comply with security/onboarding requirements.
• Experience with SAP BTP and Cloud Foundry.
• Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC security protocols.
• German language skills.
