Overview
Phillips Medisize, a Molex company, designs and manufactures drug delivery systems and medical devices. The Mold Process Engineer provides regional technical expertise in scientific molding, process development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of injection molding operations at Katowice, Poland.
Responsibilities
- Support program surge as a member of the regional project team, coordinating with the Molding Engineering Manager.
- Support the Global Cost Development (GCD) process to establish part cycle times, material consumption estimates, IMM/press options and selection.
- Troubleshoot molding processes to resolve quality or efficiency issues, working closely with cross‑functional teams.
- Support and occasionally lead Mold Process Community of Practice (CoP) initiatives or continuous improvement activities.
- Work to develop regional process standards and best practices in conjunction with the Molding Engineering Manager.
- Partner with regional PMC manufacturing units to implement process improvements and support key programs.
- Actively pursue avenues to reduce cycle times, scrap rates, and improve process robustness.
- Travel to other facilities will be required to support business needs.
- Actively participate in continual improvement/innovation initiatives.
- Support CAPA and RCA activities related to molding processes.
- Utilize scientific molding principles, Solidworks or equivalent CAD software, and Mold Flow analysis tools.
Qualifications
- Understanding of injection molding processes, tooling types, and classifications, including multi‑shot molding and part DFM.
- Minimum of 5 years of injection molding process engineering experience.
- Knowledge of scientific molding practices, process development, and validation.
- Experience communicating with internal & external customers.
- Able to travel approximately 50% to vendors and other Phillips‑Medisize facilities based on project needs. A lot of the work will be done remotely but will need to be flexible based on the project needs at the time.
