We are looking for an experienced Middleware Engineer to join our client’s team, a prominent global financial services provider. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, deploying, and optimizing middleware solutions across critical environments. You will work with key technologies such as JBoss/Wildfly, Tomcat, and Ansible to ensure the performance, reliability, and security of applications running on RHEL and Windows platforms. This position offers a chance to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive automation, streamline processes, and support secure, high-availability environments.


Key Technologies:

  • Application Servers and Middleware: JBoss/Wildfly, Tomcat, Red Hat JBoss Web Server (JWS) HTTPD, Microsoft IIS
  • Automation and CI/CD Tools: Ansible Automation Platform, Bitbucket, Artifactory
  • Programming & Scripting Languages: Oracle Java, Red Hat OpenJDK, Python, Bash, PowerShell, JSON, YAML
  • Operating Systems: RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), Windows
  • Security and Management: HCL BigFix Endpoint Security


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and manage middleware applications, focusing on JBoss/Wildfly and Tomcat environments across RHEL and Windows servers.
  • Leverage Ansible for automation of configuration management, application deployment, and operational tasks.
  • Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket and Artifactory for smooth, automated deployments.
  • Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure robust and secure middleware environments.
  • Develop and maintain scripts in Python, Bash, PowerShell, and Ansible (YAML) to streamline operational processes and enhance automation.
  • Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting to optimize application servers and middleware configurations.
  • Implement and support endpoint security protocols using HCL BigFix to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members on middleware best practices and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current on middleware and automation advancements, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Willingness to participate in shift planning and weekend operational support.


Ideal Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Middleware Engineer or in a similar role focused on JBoss, Tomcat, and Ansible within RHEL and Windows environments.
  • Strong expertise with JBoss/Wildfly and Tomcat, including configuration, tuning, and management.
  • Proficiency in Ansible for automation, configuration management, and deployment tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Java or Red Hat OpenJDK, and familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, and JSON.
  • Solid understanding of RHEL and Windows server environments.
  • Experience with HCL BigFix for endpoint security management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat JBoss Web Server (JWS) and HTTPD.
