The Role

As a Senior Middle Office Associate, you will be a vital part of a high‑performing team, managing the end‑to‑end trade lifecycle for our clients. You will work across key functions such as trade capture, settlements, and pricing, and your responsibilities will extend to trade break resolution, comprehensive client reporting and contributing to our technology development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy of all trade bookings, end‑of‑day pricing and client deliverables.
  • Manage lifecycle events on clients’ portfolio positions – corporate actions, option expiries and CFD resets.
  • Investigate and resolve cash and position breaks through daily reconciliations.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the Global “Follow the Sun” model, ensuring seamless handovers and continuity of service across Middle Office.
  • Proactively identify, analyse and strategically elevate complex issues to management and/or development teams, contributing to root cause analysis and future prevention.
  • Troubleshoot trade booking and pricing queries received from both internal teams and external parties across a wide range of products.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, external vendors and internal stakeholders, in both written and verbal forms, to ensure correct settlement of trades and resolution of breaks.
  • Build a deep understanding of HedgeServ’s proprietary applications and platforms that support functions such as Trade Capture, Security Master Setups, client reporting, price portfolios and real‑time P&L and risk to trading teams and Portfolio Managers.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field.

Experience

  • 2.5+ years of demonstrable experience in a middle office, trade support or similar operational role.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial products (Equities, Options, Futures, Fixed Income and derivatives) is an asset.
  • Experience using multiple applications to perform daily tasks, while maintaining appropriate risk and control measures, with high accuracy.

  • Technical Skills & IT Literacy: Proficient in Excel and general IT tools, with the ability to learn and master multiple proprietary and third‑party applications quickly.
  • Communication: Articulate complex issues clearly and concisely, building strong rapport with clients, vendors and internal teams.
  • Advanced Problem‑S‑olving and Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to identify and resolve complex, non‑standard issues with minimal supervision.
  • Ownership and Accountability: Take responsibility for client issues and deliverables from start to finish, acting as a dependable escalation point.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: Thrive under pressure in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Detail‑Oriented with a Strategic Mindset: Maintain 100% accuracy while also seeing the big picture and contributing to process improvements.
