The Opportunity 

Were seeking a talented Junior to Mid-level Data Engineer to join our innovative team in Poland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge data products and contribute to meaningful healthcare solutions. 

Location 

Remote work with occasional visits to our Wrocław office (minimum twice a month) 

Your Role 

As a Data Engineer at PeakData, you will: 

• Collaborate on designing and building data applications using AWS technologies 
• Utilize Python frameworks such as Spark and Pandas 
• Contribute to our innovative data product, focusing on large-scale ingestion of real-world web data and expanding AI/ML model usage 
• Help to build state-of-the-art Generative AI based features using AWS Bedrock  
• Assist in shaping and scaling data pipelines and our AWS-based data platform architecture, as well as more K8s native, build with docker containers and Argo 
• Develop and automate new data processing methods from various sources 
• Create tools to help stakeholders monitor and improve data quality 
• Work within a full-stack, stream-aligned team to achieve business objectives 
• Visit the Wrocław office periodically (aim for at least twice a month) 

Requirements 

• 4 + years of industry experience, with a focus on Python and AWS 
• Practical experience in building, debugging, and monitoring data pipelines and services (DataOps mindset) 
• Familiarity with AWS ecosystem, particularly in building modern data lake/mesh solutions (e.g., S3, Glue, Athena) 
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal 
• Ability to work in a dynamic startup environment, dealing with ambiguity and identifying improvement opportunities 
• Entrepreneurial mindset and proactive attitude 

Desirable Skills (Not Required) 

• Experience with serverless solutions (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions) on AWS 
• Knowledge of Apache Hadoop stack (Hadoop/Spark/Hive) 
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code solutions (e.g., Terraform) 
• Experience with Docker, Argo, and Kubernetes 
• Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases 
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch and Graph databases 
• Basic understanding of NLP or other machine learning concepts 
• Previous remote work experience 
• Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry
