Your day to day life

Main activities:

  • Operational Leadership – Oversee daily production processes, from logistics to the release of results, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
  • People Management – Build and maintain a positive working environment that promotes equality, staff development, retention, and effective communication.
  • Implement HR programs relating to recruitment, training, performance management, and compliance
  • Quality Assurance – Ensure compliance with ISO 17025, Mérieux SOPs, and Quality Manual. Standardize methods, implement new analytical procedures, and initiate corrective/preventive actions when required
  • Technical Oversight – Approve and sign off test results on COAs. Provide technical expertise to clients and internal teams (Sales, Customer Care). Lead the implementation of new methods and testing to support scientific innovation
  • Customer & Client Engagement – Monitor and handle complaints, answer client questions, and share expertise to ensure customer satisfaction and trust in Mérieux’s services
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration – Ensure effective cooperation across departments and work closely with other leaders to implement initiatives, train teams, and support company-wide systems.
  • Audit & Compliance – Serve as a point of contact for internal and external auditors, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to accreditation requirements (e.g., INAB).
  • Continuous Improvement – Monitor operations performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans to increase operational and financial efficiency.
  • Support corporate and local quality initiatives.
  • Budget & Resources – Manage the operations budget in collaboration with the Finance department, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Scientific Expertise – Maintain up-to-date knowledge in food science, microbiology, and related technologies through research, networking, and professional development.

At any time, the incumbent must behave and operate in an ethical and Code of Conduct compliant manner.

Communication

  • Internal Interlocutors: Daily contact with laboratory teams, supervisors, and other departments for operational coordination
  • Frequent contact with client service teams to provide results, answer questions, and support projects
  • Occasional direct contact with clients to clarify procedures and requirements
  • Regular interaction with vendors for materials and product updates
  • Occasional communication with corporate teams regarding administrative or SOP-related topics

Your Profil

Knowledge:

  • Education/Qualification: Master’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food production and/or laboratory environments
  • Demonstrated experience with accreditation body management (e.g., INAB) and audits
  • Strong technical foundation in microbiology, chemistry, food technology, or related sciences
  • Proven experience leading technical teams to achieve high performance

  • General knowledge of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) is a plus
