Overall purpose of job

The Medical Affairs Manager contributes to the development and implementation of company objectives and strategies in designated products with alignment of CVT (Country Value Team). Through activities in line with the CVT strategy, MAM is jointly responsible for the realization of short‑term and long‑term company goals defined in Brand Plan Process. This role is crucial in providing medical and scientific leadership internally and externally, responsible for discussing our products, treatment trends and studies in the therapeutic areas in which we are involved on the level to be considered as trusted scientific counterparts.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Provide medical strategy & tactics in the respective product/products.
  • Be directly involved in development of strategy and tactics for specific product/products by defining them in Medical Plan as a part of Brand Plan.
  • Manage the implementation of medical affairs activities, including proactive identification of critical paths and tracking of budget for product dedicated medical projects.
  • Foster an externally focused working environment. Develop & implement appropriate educational activities towards Health Care Professionals in collaboration with other internal and external partners where necessary.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationship between internal stakeholders to deliver high quality expertise timely. Keep collaboration and alignment of action with other CVT members.
  • Function as business partner for many different teams such as: Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, Clinical Trials, Patients’ Engagement and Advocacy, Pharmacovigilance, etc., in the field of scientific information and medical education.
  • Actively engage in cross‑functional collaboration beyond the country.
  • Ensure that all medical activities are conducted according to all applicable guidelines, regulations, company procedures and high ethical/quality standards.
  • Cooperation/building partnership with Scientific Societies, Patient’s Organizations and external health‑care related audiences.
  • Provision and implementation of appropriate educational activities towards Health Care Professionals in collaboration with other internal and external partners where necessary.

Requirements (knowledge, education, skills)

  • Medical Doctor, Pharmaceutical or Nature Science university degree.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Industry at Medical Affairs Manager position ≥ 3 years.
  • Medical Affairs experience in the Oncology area would be an advantage and is preferred.
