Currently, we are looking for a Medical Advisor responsible for:

1. Positioning AstraZeneca as a leader in Amyloidosis by driving excellent launches, building close collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders in health care systems, and developing high-performing teams.
2. Improving the lives of millions of people by ensuring that our innovative products reach the patients with proven benefits in line with the approved label. Medical Affairs activities in relation to our medications are key to making meaningful differences to patients.

The position is a hybrid role, comprising office-based work with engagement in external activities and traveling across the Poland region. The Medical Advisor is a medical affairs professional with excellent scientific understanding and knowledge in CVRM and amyloidosis. The Medical Advisor is a scientific leader and is responsible for parts of our CVRM portfolio.

Medical Advisor Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for outlining medical strategy and Medical Activity Plan within the dedicated Cardiovascular-Renal-Metabolic (CVRM) portfolio.
2. Acts as a resource to team members and peers as they continually build their own individual scientific knowledge.
3. Responsible for planning and executing medical activities in line with business needs and according to medical activity plans. Supports with medical expertise cross-functional brand teams at all phases of the life cycle of managed products.
4. Responsible for the development of science stories and medical material to be used in the field by Medical Advisors, most adapted from global material.
5. Provides regular medical training for field-force teams.
6. Engages in in-depth medical and scientific product or disease area discussions and presentations in a non-promotional scientific context with our key external experts.
7. Responsible for delivering high-quality medical information from his/her core area to external stakeholders.

The Medical Advisor demonstrates collaborative cross-functional working relationships with internal stakeholders and reports into the Medical Affairs Department to the CVRM TA Lead.

Minimum Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

1. Master’s Degree in life sciences or a related discipline.
2. Excellent knowledge of clinical practice within the rare disease area (desired).
3. Experience in product launch or strategy development and execution.
4. Experience of working in a cross-functional team.
5. Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to a variety of audiences.
6. Excellent knowledge of the English language.
7. Excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and health care systems; at least 2 years of medical affairs experience.
8. Driver’s license required.

Preferred Experience / Requirements:

1. Biological-Pharma-Medicine or allied professional.
2. Advanced scientific degree in life sciences or a related discipline.
3. Clinical and/or research experience within rare diseases.
4. 2 years or more of experience from medical affairs.
5. Strong leadership and management capabilities.
