Project Managers execute all language/translation projects from start to finish and serve as a single point of accountability for their successful completion.
Responsibilities
- Competency in localization projects across multiple formats, including IVRS (Interactive Voice Response Technology), E-learning and corporate training material, Flash and online projects, Radio, TV and Internet spots, Animated videos and cartoons, Video and online games, TV and Film.
- Manage all aspects of multimedia project management with assistance and supervision from Team Lead or Department Manager as necessary, including, but not limited to:
- Pre-production: Pre-flight of audio and video projects; reviewing audio and video files; proper vendor selection; scheduling voice talent, studios, video editors and subtitling technicians or suppliers; providing concise and effective project instructions to all necessary parties.
- Production: All aspects of the recording and audio engineering processes, including setup, file prep and conversion, Pro Tools basics, mic and level checks, pre-amp and phone patch function, slating, takes, pickups/re-records; monitoring recording sessions to ensure instructions are followed and providing feedback; communicating effectively with engineers, talents and clients during sessions.
- Post-production: All stages of post-production such as video editing, graphic replacement, subtitling and DVD authoring; basic audio editing and ability to convert audio files to required formats; conducting final checks to identify and correct audio/video issues prior to delivery.
- Negotiate rates and deadlines with contract linguists to maximize profitability and project completion speed.
- Communicate issues, delays or additional information to the Account Executive promptly and work to troubleshoot any problems that arise.
- Investigate/resolve client complaints, problem-solve, and work with QA/Management to implement systemic changes to prevent recurrence.
- Make recommendations to your manager on ways to improve processes as part of TransPerfect’s commitment to continual improvement.
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working as a Media Project Manager, preferably with corporate material.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
- University Degree (preferably in linguistic/translation related studies).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Independence in carrying out assigned tasks.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
