Mechanical System Engineer
We are looking for a Mechanical System Engineer with experience in railway products.
Qualifications & Experience
- Mechanical Engineering, preferably applied to Railway products, with 1 to 2 years of experience.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including with customers.
- Strong time‑management and reporting skills.
- Operational proficiency in English for reading, writing and attending technical meetings.
Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Ensure that catalog product and catalog processes are fully applied in projects with appropriate tools.
- Prepare DR with suppliers (sub‑system/product level) or with TSE (train/product integration level).
- Ensure the quality of deliverables (TSS E & suppliers).
- Manage the technical sub‑system PSLI/RAMP.
- Apply standard key design rules with platform and sourcing colleagues.
- Ensure that the métier tools are well applied.
- Support sites on critical technical issues.
- Report project progress (meetings, weekly/regular reports).
- Manage workpackage and budget.
Tender Phase
- Jointly with BTM/TSE fill in “Entry” connector and issue “Exit” connector.
- Define the relevant product with gap analysis on the connector.
- Jointly with TSE prepare the technical assessment for Business Award.
- Issue the technical description of the solution proposed to the customer.
Project Phase
- Assist TSE in filling in “Entry” connector and issuing “Exit” connector (connector RSAD1).
- Confirm product selection based on gap analysis.
- Confirm catalog product reference.
- Drive technical development of the product until GFV in close relationship with suppliers if it is a catalog product according to the WBS.
Product Engineering
- On demand, manage some R&D work packages.
- When owner of a TSS E product/architecture, propose a yearly sustaining plan (second source, management of obsolescence, redesign to cost, new development).
- Drive the agreed plan.
- Ensure the catalog is up to date on technical performance and quality performance.
- Collect and formalize return of experience on solutions.
