Mechanical Engineer – Mid
Location: Warsaw
Main responsibilities
- Design and development of mechanical/mechatronic systems.
- Preparation of technical documentation, including:
- Design descriptions of the systems
- Procedures and reports for integration and testing
- Technical budgets (e.g. mass budgets)
- Component lists (BOMs)
- Preparation and supervision of manufacturing documentation (technical drawings).
- Performing calculations required for system design and components’ selection.
- Material selection.
- Preparation and supervision of CAD models.
- Assembly and integration of the mechanisms.
- Participation in tests of the mechanisms and systems.
- Participation in design reviews with the customer.
- Cooperation with technical leader regarding definition of tasks within the project.
- Responsibility for the assigned scope of work within the project.
- Cooperation with the project manager, FEM analysts as well as thermal, electronics and systems engineers.
- Collaboration with workshops, suppliers, and manufacturers.
- Supporting Business Development division in proposal preparations.
Requirements
- University degree in engineering (preferred fields: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation and Robotics, Space engineering or Aerospace engineering).
- At least 3 years of experience in the space industry or 4 years in machine design/automation and robotics/aerospace in a design engineer position.
- Experience in the design of mechanical structures as well as in selected areas:
- Design of power transmission mechanisms (e.g. worm gears, ball screw drives)
- Electric motors selection
- Bearings selection
- Tribology and lubricant selection
- Bolted connection calculations
- Kinetostatic analysis of mechanisms
- Fluent English (minimum B2).
- Experience in preparation of models and drawings using CAD software (Solid Edge preferred).
- Knowledge of the commonly used materials’ properties.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and material processing technologies.
- Experience in technical documentation preparation, including drawings based on GD&T system.
- Ability to analyze design requirements and methods of their verification.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good organization skills, creativity, analytical thinking and ability to work independently.
Nice to have
- Experience in the design, assembly, and testing of devices/systems related to the space or robotics industries.
- Basic understanding of:
- FEM structural analyses
- Thermal analyses
- Vibrations
- Space environment characteristics
- Experience with prototyping using 3D printers.
- Experience with GIT.
- Familiarity with ECSS standards.
