We are looking for a Lead Engineer to design and develop oilfield equipment connections systems. The role centers on managing high‑quality project delivery for customers, creating innovative engineering solutions, and blending cutting‑edge physical and digital technologies.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and train less experienced designers.
- Create work packs, delegate tasks, review detail drawings, create test procedures and lead tasks with external business partners.
- Develop layouts, specify functional components, evaluate stack‑ups, create assembly procedures, support manufacturing, and undertake basic calculations.
- Interpret customer engineering specifications to produce layout, detail, and assembly designs and specifications.
- Develop conceptual design requirements and layouts for review following the company design process plan (DPP).
- Develop general design specifications for interpretation by other engineers and designers.
- Retrieve and submit data in PLM (Teamcenter) system following company protocols.
- Create and review detail, fabrication, and assembly level drawings to company standards and format.
- Create and review detail designs for manufacture, participate in and create material for design reviews including materials and environmental reviews using relevant software.
- Modify and create 3D models and drawings to manufacturing standards using company protocols and parametric practices.
- Create and review Bill of Materials (BOM) in PLM system.
- Undertake design verification, including tolerance studies, design reliability, design for manufacture, simple failure analysis, design reviews, and basic calculations for verification purposes.
- Identify improvements in existing products, procedures, and processes, and develop cost‑effective solutions to satisfy specifications.
- Create and review factory acceptance (FAT) procedures, prototype test procedures, FDS, and user manuals.
- Ensure all design activities and documents are correctly archived in the electronic document management system.
- Understand and apply design for manufacture principles for turning, machining, drilling, milling, and welding.
- Provide support to the team working on tenders.
- Seek new innovative technical solutions to improve team processes, products, and systems.
Qualifications
- Background in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with extensive design experience.
- Significant relevant work experience in engineering or technical disciplines.
- Appropriate standard of technical, safety, and professional knowledge.
- Knowledge of Oil & Gas industry, especially subsea, considered an asset.
- Fully familiar with Risk Assessment and Reliability Verification procedures.
- Highly knowledgeable of current relevant industry standards and codes for area of work.
- Experience with Design / Modeling / Financial / Project Management / Analytical software (Teamcenter, Creo, AutoCAD, Ansys Workbench).
- Conscientious, flexible, versatile, and determined.

- Fully fluent in English. Other location‑specific languages desirable.
- Understanding of behavioral personnel issues.
