The Lead Engineer will be expected to have the competence listed below with respect to the design/development of OFSE Connections Systems.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Mentor and train less experienced designers.
  • Create work packs for delegation, review detail drawings, create test procedures and lead task with external business partners.
  • Create layouts, specify functional components, evaluate stackups, create assembly procedures, support manufacturing, undertake basic calculations.
  • Interpret customer engineering specifications to produce layout, detail and assembly designs and specifications.
  • Develop conceptual design requirements and layouts for review following company design process plan (DPP).
  • Develop general design specifications for interpretation by other engineers and designers.
  • Retrieve and submit data in PLM (Teamcenter) system following company protocols.
  • Create/review detail, fabrication and assembly level drawings to company standards and format.
  • Create/review detail designs for manufacture and participate and create material for design reviews including materials and environmental reviews using relevant software to prepare general drawings.
  • Modify and create 3D models and drawings to manufacturing standards for manufacture using company protocols and parametric practices.
  • Create/review Bill of Materials (BOM) in PLM system.
  • Undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to: tolerance studies, design reliability, design for manufacture, simple failure analysis, design reviews, simple calculations for basic design verification purposes.
  • Identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes and develop cost‑effective solutions to satisfy specifications.
  • Create/review factory acceptance (FAT) procedures, prototype test procedures, FDS, and user manuals.
  • Ensure all design activities and documents are correctly archived in electronic document management system.
  • Understand and apply design for manufacture principles for turning, machining, drilling, milling, and welding.
  • Provide support to the team who works on tenders.
  • Seek new innovative technical solutions to improve team processes, products and systems.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have background in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with extensive design experience in lieu.
  • Have significant relevant work experience in relevant engineering or technical discipline.
  • Have appropriate standard of technical, safety and professional knowledge.
  • Have knowledge about Oil&Gas bussies, especially subsea would be seen as an asset.
  • Be fully familiar with Risk Assessment and Reliability Verification procedures.
  • Be highly knowledgeable of current relevant industry standards and codes for area of work.
  • Have experience of current Design/Modelling/Financial/project Management/Analytical software. Teamcenter, Creo, AutoCAD, Ansys Workbench.
  • Be conscientious, flexible, versatile and determined.
  • Be capable of assertive and positive communication and performance.
  • Be innovative, drives excellence and improvement.
  • Be fully fluent in English language. Other location‑specific languages desirable.
  • Have sufficient understanding of behavioral personnel issues.
  • Work effectively with team members.
  • Have professional approach to changing work demands.
