What you’ll do
- Model understanding: Develop a clear, compelling understanding of the model and development–deployment pipeline that aligns with business goals and user needs, executing it effectively to meet the approved minimum performance criteria and articulate outcomes to stakeholders and the team.
- Facilitate team member engagement: Engage in team management activities to deliver program objectives cohesively. Mentor/coach junior/new team members. Communicate technical outcomes in business-friendly terms to senior stakeholders and ensure requirements are understood, prioritized, and interpreted to align with strategic goals.
- Deliver as per Product Roadmap: Understand the product roadmap for your pod, prioritize features based on business value and market trends, and help the POD deliver as per prioritized features using the Value Stream model to ensure value delivery.
- Code optimization: Contribute as a lead data analyst/scientist within an Agile Scrum framework, ensuring correct and optimized code writing, drive transparency and collaboration across PODs (Analytics, Product, IT and Transformation), and foster continuous improvement.
- Complete Model Documentation and drive Model Approval: Ensure all model documents are updated to standards. Present models in relevant forums to obtain deployment approval. Participate in and defend the model in internal/external review forums (e.g., IMR, Audit, Regulator). Support follow-up analysis to close outstanding findings.
- Release Management: Support model development per the Financial Crime strategic development/deployment framework to keep the solution optimized and future-ready.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation and experimentation to optimize product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Stay ahead of the curve: Continuously learn and adapt to emerging trends and technologies, proactively seeking opportunities to improve the model.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Strong experience in data science or related roles, with a focus on Machine Learning
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts and their application in ML algorithms
- Genuine understanding of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence concepts
- Hands-on experience with coding (SQL, Python, BigQuery)
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or cloud-based technologies
- Very good communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills
- Very good understanding of Agile framework and ability to operate within an agile environment
- Proven ability to develop subject matter expertise quickly and translate complex analysis into a non-technical, business-friendly presentation
