Purpose

As a Management Accountant, you will support the Company’s UK accounting and reporting process. This critical role provides an opportunity to contribute to consolidated reporting as well as monthly management reports. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional departments including group controllers, plant controllers, finance managers, and FP&A, and interface with external technical advisors and auditors. You will report directly to the UK Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines
  • Perform detailed variance analysis and provide commentary on key movements against budget and prior periods
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Support the preparation and submission of group reporting packs in line with internal timelines and requirements
  • Prepare statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and assist with technical accounting queries as needed
  • Coordinate the annual audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor queries
  • Monitor and improve financial controls and accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures across the business
  • Collaborate with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and support decision‑making
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal governance policies
  • Contribute to ad‑hoc projects, system improvements, and continuous process enhancement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Chartered Accountant or equivalent (CPA, ACA, CIMA) preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial reporting or management accounting
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and accounting standards
  • Experience supporting a global or regional accounting team
  • Big Four experience or equivalent is a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas and financial modeling
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with multiple stakeholders
