Job Description

• Ensure the systems used by the business and clients are stable, reliable, and cost-effective.
• Suggest improvements and plan long-term strategies for these systems.
• Provide technical support to partners and colleagues.
• Test and configure new versions of software and products.
• Create and manage procedures to ensure the systems run smoothly and are well-supported.
• Act as the go-to person for any issues with DB2 and MQ systems, working directly with vendors if necessary.
• Optimize the performance of SQL queries and applications.
• Fine-tune the performance of MQ managers (software that handles messaging between applications).
• Review and approve MQ objects created by software development teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing DB2 databases on z/OS .
• 5+ years of experience managing MQ systems on z/OS .
• Familiarity with z/OS system programming and USS .
• Experience with security, including managing certificates.
• JCL, SDSF, PL/1, Rexx, QMF (TSO/Websphere) .
• Monitoring tools for DB2 & MQ (CA SYSVIEW, Omegamon, TMON) .
• DataReplication (QReplication, CDC) .

Nice to have

• Experience installing SAS software on mainframe and distributed platforms.
• Knowledge of IDAA (IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator).
• Experience with DB2Connect/drivers and Windows.
• Familiarity with z/OS Connect, DB2 APIs, and DB2 AI.
