About the Position:
We are looking for a Logistics and Packaging Specialist to join the OES logistics team, reporting directly to the Logistics Manager.
This position is based at our office in Katowice.
As the Logistics and Packaging Specialist at Marelli, you will be responsible for:
- Developing new and adapting existing packaging standards for modernizing current standards and cardboard packaging as an alternative to currently used packaging and final packaging for the aftermarket.
- Conducting transport tests to verify the correctness of packaging, material, and protection used.
- Calculating the quantities of necessary packaging in circulation (verification for the aftermarket).
- Creating packing cards for individual parts and adapting existing ones according to plant requirements.
- Managing budgets for new launches.
- Updating data on customer portals.
- Reporting on packaging matters.
- Communicating with suppliers and customers to approve or modify packaging of parts/finished products.
- Communicating with customers and managing packaging complaints; implementing required changes and modifications.
- Contacting packaging manufacturers and material suppliers on the market.
- Describing invoices for packaging before final payment (if new packaging is introduced).
- Creating logistics improvements (kaizen) from the packaging perspective.
- Adapting logistics areas for applied/implemented packaging.
- Supporting the Logistics Department with regard to buffers (size, location).
- Planning new areas/spaces for logistics operations.
- Preparing labels for shelves (production line, supermarket).
- Creating logistics reports.
- Adhering to Quality Management System procedures and Integrated Management System standards, including IATF16949 norms.
- Participating in logistics audits.
- Collaborating with other departments within the plant and with other Marelli plants/suppliers/customers.
Expectations from you in this position:
- Minimum education: secondary education, preferably higher, ideally in logistics management, management and production engineering, or logistics.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar position in a manufacturing company (preferably in the automotive industry).
- Ability to select packaging and create packing cards.
- Ability to create logistics flows.
- Knowledge of material supply principles.
- Knowledge of logistics equipment usage principles.
- Ability to prepare logistics reports.
- Familiarity with the process of implementing engineering changes.
- Creating packing cards for finished products.
- Ability to analyze packaging material costs.
- Knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Valid category B drivers license.
- English language proficiency at minimum B1 level (spoken and written).
- Ability to share knowledge and experience.
