This is the job:

• Support and/or lead as required the activities related to adequately maintain the contractual base relative to the spend under his/her direct responsibility by establishing new contracts or modifications of existing ones according to the established decision levels.
• Actively participate as required in the nomination process of new suppliers and their respective contract agreements according to the established process.
• Support and/or lead as required the sourcing activities for materials and services not covered by the existing contractual base (engineered to order material, new or modified materials or services, etc.), closing out supply contracts or purchase orders according to the established decision levels and informing the affected Commodity Managers.
• Assure the necessary input and support to the Global Commodity Managers in order to establish the necessary strategic purchasing agreements or partnership collaborations with suppliers.
• Assure the necessary input and support to the Global Commodity Managers so that the needs of the plants and the local markets are taken into account in the elaboration of the Supply Base Strategy for each Commodity.
• Support and/or lead as required the initiatives related to the improvement of the cost and supply conditions (lead time, quality, on time delivery, payment terms and others) of the Materials, Components, Investments and Services used in order to meet the company’s yearly and long term objectives.
• Support the areas of Logistics and Supplier Quality on issues related to supplier performance.

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience of at least 5 years in Supply Chain management in an international industrial environment, preferably within a Purchasing Organization, out of a minimum total working experience of 10 years.
• University or equivalent degree level of academic education related to the job scope (engineering, economics, business management, …).
• Purpose driven individual, target oriented and used to work under pressure.
• Proactive person to permanently look out for improvement opportunities through product and/or supplier changes.
• Good negotiation skills in order to obtain the better procurement conditions while maintaining good and professional relationships with suppliers.
• Flexibility to resolve external and internal conflict situations.
• Availability for extensive travel and willingness to work in a true international environment with individuals of different cultures and nationalities.
• Business fluent in English and the local language.
