For our customer, a leader in consulting, technology services, and digital transformation, we are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to join our infrastructure team. The Linux Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based servers and environments to ensure the smooth operation of our critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, a passion for system security, and a proactive approach to automation.

Project information:

• Location: Katowice, Kraków, Lublin, Opole, or Wrocław (one location to choose; hybrid model of work - once a week from the office)
• Type of employment: employment contract
• Project language: French and English

Responsibilities:

• Installing, configuring, and administering Linux-based servers (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
• Monitoring system performance, ensuring continuous availability and reliability.
• Regularly updating systems, applying patches, and conducting kernel upgrades to ensure security and compliance.
• Automating routine system tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Enforcing security best practices, including setting up firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and file permissions.
• Executing backups, implementing recovery procedures, and developing disaster recovery plans.
• Overseeing storage solutions, including NFS, RAID, LVM, and SAN systems.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Managing user access and permissions, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
• Documenting system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
• Deploying and monitoring logging and alerting tools to track system health and prevent outages.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Linux systems administration.
• Experience with system monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
• Experience with shell scripting (Bash) and automation tools.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, NFS, etc.).
• Practical experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Understanding of security tools and practices (SELinux, iptables, firewalld).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent command of the French language (at least B2 level) and good command of English (at least B1 level).
